SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

Patient Information & FAQ

Harbour View Medical Clinic may use social media to share general practice updates, health promotion information and community notices. Social media is not a private clinical communication channel.

Can I contact my doctor through social media?

No. Please do not send medical questions, photographs, prescriptions, referrals, results or other personal health information through Facebook, Instagram, Messenger or other social platforms. Social media accounts are not monitored as a clinical service.

Will the clinic discuss patients online?

The clinic and its team will protect patient confidentiality and will not disclose identifiable patient information through social media unless there is a lawful basis and appropriate consent.

What about comments, reviews and posts?

We welcome respectful feedback; however, staff cannot confirm that a person is a patient or discuss individual care publicly. If a comment raises a clinical or privacy matter, we may invite the person to contact the clinic privately through an approved channel.

Can patients photograph or record in the clinic?

Please ask before taking photographs, video or audio recordings. Other patients, visitors and staff have privacy rights, and recording may be restricted where it could compromise confidentiality, safety or care.
